Suede is the underside of leather, sanded to give it a soft and smooth feel. It comes from farms in the Rio Grande do Sul region and is tanned in Brazil without harmful or prohibited chemicals. VEJA uses dyes that meet regulations and prioritizes responsible water use during the tanning process. This suede is then coated with PFC-free water-repellent oils to shield the shoes from light rain.
VEJA is a retailer of footwear products and accessories headquartered in Paris, France. Since 2005, VEJA has been creating sneakers in a different way, mixing social projects, economic justice, and ecological materials. VEJA uses Brazilian and Peruvian organic cotton for the canvas and laces, Amazonian rubber for the soles, and various innovative materials made from recycled plastic bottles or recycled polyester.
